about

My Dad fought cancer for nearly three years. Toward the end of his battle, he began feeling uneasy with the idea of leaving his girl (my Mom) and us. Started questioning if he was good enough to make it home to his eternal life. I went home and was heart broken at the thought that this man that has literally blessed and enriched everyone he's ever met, could be feeling this at this point in his journey. So I did as I've been created to do. I went home and trusted that the Lord would put something on my heart to share with him. The stories he used to share with me about his life came flooding in and the rest of the words of encouragement just followed.

This song was recorded two days before he passed and I'm thankful we were able to play it for him. Although he could not respond, I feel he heard it. I hope it brought him some peace in his final hours of life.

I'm blessed to have had such a close relationship with him all my life. He passed at home in bed, surrounded by his entire family. Part of me has passed along with Dad.

Love your fathers and mothers, even if you feel they don't need it,
love your brothers and sisters, especially when they can't see it and love you friends and enemies even when they don't deserve it.

Love you Dad

The Ballad of RT

You survived so many fights
Both physically and mentally draining

Broke your nose, knocked out on a golf course
when the other guy didn’t yell four

Surprised that night when you crossed the train tracks
and there was no signal to stop

Woke up to a conductors light
shinning the blood on your shirt

That’s just a few
of the things you've been through

One by one, your loved ones have gone
Leaving just you and your girl

Locomotive steel holds no closer candle
To the grief you both endured

Now you find yourself in the 12th round
of a heavyweight life event

Just remember what the good Lord has done
and all the things he’s brought you through

That’s just a few
Of the things he will do

I know it’s not easy
But place your trust in him and see

That all your fears will be
Taken by the one

That has got you through all this so far

Regardless of what is to come

He will hold you and take care of your concerns

You’ll have nothing to worry, believe that he’s in control

He knows that you believe in Him and that you have pledged your love

Take all the thoughts that have scared you and place them at the foot of the cross

Chord shape permutations of sacred geometry, catchy melodies and a rhythm centric approach to song writing, the music is thoughtfully crafted much like paint to canvas.
